Post a
response, answering these two questions:
1. What do we learn
about Tuareg culture from this video?
2. Keeping in mind what you learned from
this interview, how does seeing the visuals within the video and knowing the
meaning of the lyrics give us a deeper understanding of Tuareg culture?`
1. What do we learn about Tuareg culture from this video?
ReplyDeleteWe learn that they like tea, and they use to be for long periods of time in deserts.
what did i learn?
ReplyDeletethere are many different cultures around the world that we ignore. Even the most peaceful cultures have a lot of samples of history that can show us a different point of view about life.
The video shows a few details about TuaReg culture. But we can see how they appreciate nature and how they express what they love, what they want to be and feelings through music. Also, the video shows a very meticulous Tea ceremony, that is a mystery if we don´t investigate about it; but it could be an example of many rituals from other cultures where they use the same idea, "to be together", friends or family.
answering the first question, i could meet a new weird culture, from some remote place in the world, about this new culture for me, i learned that each culture has a way of show their beliefs, in this specific case i could notice that the culture has a rudimentary lifestyle, but it is not a bad point, actually, they can found everything in the space or places like deserts, as jeyleen, i have something very clear in my mind about the song and culture :they like tea!
ReplyDeletetrough the video we can not have a big and specific idea about this civilitation, but the rhythm and the words and images gives us a general idea:they are a different culture with beliefs completely differents than Western ones, and we can have a lot of questions now that we will know just when we live like the people from this part of the world.
In this video we can see, and more than that, feel, the message they were trying to send us, about how their lives are. About the social problematic that is affecting their life, and how makes them to feel like. The pain they have and their wish of freedom. ("This pain is burden"-"I'd fly off like a bird") is expressed more than once in this video (actually, through all the video) in order to share their feelings with all the people, and show, as representatives of their culture, the wish of "fly off". They're showing the most pure feeling of the human race, the wish of peace, but more than that, the inner peace. This culture is fighting for a future, their future. In this video we can appreciate a ritual, the Tea Ritual, it has to have some meaning, because they aren't serving the Tea just for one person, at the end, we can see, that the guy who is drinking it, left some glass of Tea, like inviting us to join to this ritual, to this tradition, to this feeling, maybe just like friends, maybe as an active part.
